"I would willingly exchange every
painting of Christ for one snapshot."

Although my grandfather and father were both writers for Texas newspapers, I became interested in photography when I found it easier than writing. After a non-credit night course at a community college learning darkroom technigues back in 1973, I was hooked on the expressive and informative power of images. I've come to learn over the years that writing skills improve the picture finding and making process--the two work together to achieve the the greatest potential for readers/viewers/users whether for print or screened presentations.
