Dr. Paul Martin Lester, Professor
Assignment 4: Picture Story Research
Your semester-long project will be to produce a picture story the helps tell the story of the serious social issue of homelessness within the city of Fullerton. You must decide which aspect of the homeless issue you want to concentrate upon: homeless people, social workers, food kitchens, church or other volunteers and efforts, success stories--those recently freed from homelessness, Cal State Fullerton students, government employees, or police officials, and so on. If you concentrate your photojournalism upon homeless people, you will receive extra credit.
The students in last semester's class also worked on Fullerton picture stories. Their efforts can be found on the Web at commfaculty.fullerton.edu/lester/courses/courses.html. Your stories will also be put on the Web.
For this assignment, you will turn in 12 facts--in a bulleted format--that you have learned about your block. Five facts must come from books, magazines, or the World Wide Web. Five must come from talking to people. Two will come from your own general knowledge. List out each item with the source of your information.
