AAA Usage Rules
(1) To be eligible for use in a week, a AAA player must appear in the top 100 of his league (International or Pacific Coast) in either AB or IP and must not have appeared in a major league game (in which case only his major league stats will be used). This means that a player might be in the top 100 one week, but ineligible the following week if he drops out of the top 100. (2) Minor leaguers typically get 83% performance on their AAA stats, based on the Bill James formula. In addition, they may not be more than the major league average. Example: the real MLB ERA is 4.00, so no minor leaguer may have an ERA lower than 3.00, even if their AAA ERA is 1.29.
