ADI
VOLLEYBALL ARCHIVES
Prior to 2000, the ADI volleyball was a staff versus student affair, with the staff running a somewhat dubious 22-0 record. One year saw the staff declare a best 2-of-3 format after having lost the first game (all prior games had been a single set), all 100 students had to rotate while the same 10 staff members played continuously, and in one embarassing year the staff was forced to "pants" a particularly good student player while he was airborne.
Arriving with the ethical mandate of Kenesaw Mountain Landis, new Directors Bruschke and Achten have added a ringing clarion of legitimacy to the game. Since 2000, all games have been lab-versus-lab, and victims of the Arizona Heat have been carted off the sand as humanely as possible.
