1. Make a checklist of all your safety gear and make sure
you’re wearing it before you step onto your board. • Knee pads

guards 2. Protect your feet by wearing thick socks and solid
boots or closed toed shoes. 3. Eat a healthy meal or snack at
least an hour before riding to avoid cramping. Don’t over eat!

prevent sore or cramped muscles, so munch on those before and
after you ride. 4. Always stretch before beginning any sort of
physical activity. 5. Walk the run first and check for hazards
including sticks and branches that face uphill, rocks or
sudden drops. 6. Warm up by riding a smooth, gentle slope to
get the feel of your board. 7. Stay centered on your board toe
and heal and front and back. 8. If you lose control, don’t try
to ditch the board. Crouch down low, grab the toeside rail
with your back hand, pull it up and lean back into the turn.
9. Be aware of the location of other riders and keep a safe
distance. 10. Don’t go boarding alone. You’ll have much more
fun with a friend or a group and you’ll be able to look out
for one another in the case of an
accident.
